About Asia Strategic
An independent publication about money, property, business and technology in Asia.
Asia Strategic is an editorial website covering five subjects: investing, real estate, business, wealth and AI. We focus on Singapore and Malaysia, and look outward to the rest of Asia-Pacific when it affects our readers' decisions.
We started with a simple observation. People in this region tend to make their biggest financial decisions, a home, a business, a retirement plan, using a mix of family advice, sales brochures and articles written for American or British readers. We wanted something in between: clear, local and not selling anything.
What we cover
Each of our five sections has a guide that sets out the basics and links to deeper articles. We pay particular attention to the bridges between them, such as how a data centre can be a property investment and an AI story at the same time, or how a holding company is both a business structure and a wealth planning tool.
How we write
Our editorial standards are short and we take them seriously:
- Facts are checked against primary sources. Where a figure comes from a regulator, a government agency or a published report, we say so, and link to it where we can.
- Dates matter. Tax rates, property rules and scheme limits change often. We state when information was current and update articles when the rules move.
- We separate explanation from opinion. When we offer a view, we say it is a view.
- We correct mistakes openly. If you spot an error, tell us through our contact page and we will fix it.
- No paid placements disguised as articles. If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be labelled clearly.
